2^nd Annual Race the Waves in Emerald Isle

Emerald Isle Parks and Recreation Department proudly presented the 2^nd Annual Race the Waves on Saturday June 11, 2011 at 8am.  The event consisted of an 8k Road Race as well as a 5k Fun Run.  The run course was an out and back down Emerald and onto Ocean Drive.  There were 70 finishers in the 8k road race race; and about 80 participants in the fun run, ranging in age from 8 to 68 years old.  Special thank you to all of the volunteers that came out and helped make the event a success. Thank you to Bob 93.3, Food Lion of Emerald Isle and McDonalds of Cape Carteret for their continued support.
