The Town of Emerald Isle has received an offer of $350,000 for the purchase of Town-owned property located at 218 Cedar Street, Emerald Isle, NC.  The property is the former Emerald Isle EMS station.  The offeror has provided a bid deposit equal to 5% ($17,500) of the purchase price to the Town, and has agreed to complete the closing no later than February 28, 2010.  The Emerald Isle Board of Commissioners has chosen to utilize the upset bid method, outlined in NCGS 160A-269, to dispose of this real property.  Other persons interested in purchasing this property may submit an upset bid to the Emerald Isle Town Clerk no later than 10 am on Monday, January 11 at the Town Administration Building, 7509 Emerald Drive, Emerald Isle, NC.  The amount of any upset bid must be at least 5% greater than the original offer of $350,000, plus $50, and must include a bid deposit equal to 5% of the total upset bid.  If no upset bids are received by 10 am on Monday, January 11, the Emerald Isle Board of Commissioners will consider final approval of the real property sale at its regular meeting on Tuesday, January 12 at 6 pm in the Town Board Meeting Room, 7500 Emerald Drive, Emerald Isle, NC.
