Alzheimer's Association Emerald Isle Sea Turtle Crawl

Saturday, June 18, 2016 All Day
Emerald Isle Sea Turtle Crawl starts at the Point

The Alzheimer's Association Emerald Isle Sea Turtle Crawl is a team event to raise funds and awareness to honor those facing Alzheimer's disease by participating in The Longest Day on Saturday, June 18, 2016.  The Longest Day is a sunrise-to-sunset event to honor the strength, heart and endurance of those living with Alzheimer’s disease and their caregivers.

Held annually on the summer solstice, The Longest Day symbolizes the challenging journey of those living with Alzheimer’s disease and their caregivers. During the Longest Day (Saturday, June 18) the Emerald Isle Sea Turtle Crawl team will walk the beach in Emerald Isle as they raise funds to help advance the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association.

Alzheimer’s disease is a growing epidemic and the nation’s sixth-leading cause of death. More than 5 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s, including 160,000 in North Carolina alone.
