After School Program (ASP)

On Thursday, February 11th at 5:30pm the children of the After School Program will perform various talents in a talent show.  A spaghetti dinner will follow the talent show.  The entire family is invited to attend the show and dinner.  However, you must RSVP to Miss Megan by Thursday, February 4th at 6pm.

Greetings After School Parents,

I am excited for another educating and entertaining year of the After School Program!  The After School Program (ASP) will begin on the first day of school, Tuesday, August 25th from 3-6pm.  As in the past, the ASP will provide time for the children to work on their homework, a healthy snack, hands-on educational projects and physical activity.  Ms. Megan has signed on for another year of fun with your child; that means we will be doing similar games and programs as to last year with each week being structured around a particular theme.

A monthly ASP newsletter will be created to keep you abreast of upcoming events, fees, schedule and of course fun.  The monthly newsletter will be sent home the last week of the month for the upcoming month.  Do take the time to read the newsletter that is sent home, it is packed with good information.  Additionally, the newsletter will be available on our website click here.

ASP fees will be calculated at $50 per week and are due whether your child attends ASP or not (vacations and illnesses will be addressed on an individual basis and need to be handled by the Program Supervisor, Laura Lee Davis).  Only monthly payments will be accepted.  Payment will need to be paid at the beginning of the month; $50 per week per child, payable in ADVANCE on the Monday of the first full week of the month.  Additional charges: $5 for Early Release Days; $10 for Full Days (7:30am-5:30pm) (e.g., Teacher’s Workdays).  These fees will be factored into the total monthly payment due.  Please consult the monthly newsletter for a grand total of the fees due for the upcoming month.  Failure to pay fees in a timely manner will result in dismissal.  Also note, $5 PER MINUTE late pick-up fee (must be paid before child can return to program).  There is an $80 Penalty Fee for withdrawal without two-week’s prior notice (must be paid before child or child’s family can participate in any future programs offered by the EIPRD). ***If you plan to use your childcare expenses on your income taxes, please request a receipt for each payment and keep the receipts to file with your income taxes.  I don’t prepare that information for you.***

Payment for August and September is due no later that August 31st; $285 per child is due.  Please see the fee details on the August Newsletter.

At this point in time, we have 18 children registered for the program.  Although we are operating within the appropriate adult/child ratio, it is imperative that we have well behaved children at the ASP.  Please discuss the rules with your child.  Also note that children who do not follow the rules will be sent home.   Being sent home from the ASP three times results in explosion from the program.  The rules are as follows:

•         No unruly behavior.

•         No abusive or foul language.

•         No toys from home.

•         Children must respect:

–        Second occurrence results in immediate dismissal (No refund).

House Rules:

•         Walk in the hallways and classroom.

**Please note that expulsion/dismissal from any program conducted or endorsed by Emerald Isle Parks & Recreation prohibits the child from taking part in any and all additional programs provided by Emerald Isle Parks & Recreation Department.**
