  • Session 1, June 23rd – June 27th ~“Let’s Make a Movie with Steve Myott”

If you just love the idea of having your name in lights and getting the chance to be movie star, then you are going to love making a movie with Steve Myott.  Campers will help create the story line and will have acting roles in the short film.  Family and friends are invited to the premiere of the movie on Thursday evening.  Copies of the children’s movie will be available for purchase.  When you are not filming, you will have the opportunity to participate in all kinds of camp fun- movie star style.

  • Session 2, June 30th – July 3rd ~ Animals-R-Us (note, no camp on July 4th)

Do you enjoy being around animals or even acting like an animal?  You will spend the week learning about, petting and making fury and hairy friends.  4-H will join us three afternoons with friendly farm animals.  Meet the Lifeline Canines and see how hard dogs really can work and why they truly are man’s best friend.  Children will also spend the “Day at the Farm” learning about animals, making butter, taking a hayride and so much more!

  • Session 3, July 7th – July 11th ~ Xmas in July

Wouldn’t it be great to have all the fun of winter and the holiday season, but in the summer?  When instead of keeping toasty warm inside you are roasting marshmallows outside? We are going to have a fantastic week of winter fun, which will have you eating snowballs, racing in a human dogsled race and even ice skating.  In the spirit of the holidays the children will sing carols at the nursing home.

  • Session 4, July 14th – July 18th ~ Extreme Sports

Calling all extreme sports enthusiasts!  This is your chance to participate in all kinds of fun sport challenges.  Take your extreme attitude to new heights!  Although the competition will be fierce, you will work harder to enhance your teamwork, communication, and good sportsmanship skills.  In addition to all the fun you’ll have playing sports; you will go to a Kinston Indians baseball game, play sporty water games, scale indoor mountains and enjoy an ice cream treat on a hot summer day.

  • Session 5, July 21st – July 25th ~ Horse N’ Around

Are you passionate about horses and having fun?  Then you have to join us for some horse n’ around fun!  Campers will spend TWO days riding high on in the saddle in the morning and have a ton of camp fun in the afternoon.  Learn about the horses and do arts & crafts at the stable, as well as at camp.  IMPORTANT:  Jeans and (preferably) boots or sneakers are mandatory for horseback riding.  Children not meeting this requirement will not ride.  Send a change of clothing along with your child to wear after the stables. Permission slip required.

  • Session 6, July 28th – August 1st ~Scientific Fun

For this session we are pulling out all the stops and you’ll never believe that science could be this much fun!  Along with the help of your counselors you will create amazing experiments.  The fun won’t stop there either.  You’ll get to visit two new summer destinations; MacDaddy’s Bowling Alley and the Paint Your Own Pottery Store at Emerald Plantation.  No science camp would be complete without the messy twist, pie eating, rockets and SLIME!  Don’t forget your old clothes.

  • Session 7, August 4th – August 8th ~ Enviro-Art Camp

A specialty camp aimed at teaching children about the environment and art.  We will do environmentally friendly art projects & challenges.  Children will participate in a poster challenge, take a trip to Cape Lookout, learn about oysters, create a compost pile, and conserve energy.  Taking care of the environment never looked so good.  Campers will be asked to be environmentally responsible all week long.  Reduce, Reuse & Recycle.

  • Session 8, August 11th – August 15th ~ Around the World

Speak Japanese, eat Mexican, cook an Italian lunch, get a henna tattoo and still be home in time for dinner!  Spend your day with us learning about the different cultures and people around the world.  Create masterpieces of art and try your hand at pottery.  Learn and play the games other children around the world play in their backyards.  Sound like fun … we’ll see ya’ there!
