Youth Programs  

 

 

After School Program:  The Emerald Isle Parks & Recreation Department is proud to offer an After School Program for children.  This program is designed to provide enrichment activities for children in grades K-5th after school hours.  The program allows children to enjoy a fun, safe environment with structured supervision.  Children have the opportunity to:  begin homework assignments, participate in arts & crafts projects, play games & sports in the gym, play outside at Blue Heron Park and much more.  The fee for the program is $50 per week, payable monthly.  The ASP takes place Monday-Friday each week from 3pm – 6pm in the Community Center.  The program operates on the Carteret County Public School System’s annual School Calendar.  Click here to read more.

Mother's Morning Out:   Thank you for your interest in the Mother’s Morning Out Preschool Program!  We are delighted that you are considering our preschool program at Emerald Isle Parks and Recreation.     Click here for a brief description of the skills and behaviors your child will learn during their time with us.  Not only will your child learn with us, but they will also have the opportunity to socialize and interact with their peers.  They’ll have a great time … and so will you!

The Mother’s Morning Out Program is Emerald Isle Parks & Recreation’s preschool program designed for children ages 2-5.  The 2 & 3 year old class meets on Tuesday and Thursday from 9am until 12pm.  The 4 & 5 Year old class meets on Wednesday and Friday from 9am until 12pm.  The Mother’s Morning Out Preschool Program operates on the Carteret County school calendar.  The fee is $100 per month.  One monthly volunteer (mom, dad, grandma, uncle, nanny, etc) day and snack are required.  Membership to Emerald Isle Parks & Recreation is not required.  Call Laura Lee Davis at 252-354-6350 to put your child on the waiting list for our program.  All spaces in the 2010-2011 Mother’s Morning Out Preschool Program are filled.  We are only accepting children for the waiting list for care in the upcoming years.  Thank you. 

For Parents of Enrolled Children
Please note that the orientation for the MMO Program will be held on Wednesday, September 1, 2010.  Please make arrangements for childcare during your orientation.  Orientation is a time for you to meet with Ms. Connie and I, tour your child’s classroom, meet the other MMO parents, and ask questions.  Orientation is a MUST, even for returning students.

Summer Day Camp Program:  Emerald Isle Parks & Recreation takes great pride in the Summer Day Camp program offered to children ages 6-12 each summer.  Summer Day Camp registration takes place the first Monday in May beginning at 6pm.  We register a maximum of 25 children per session.  Camp operates from 7:30am until 5:30pm Monday through Friday during all 8 weeks of camp.  The fee for each themed week of camp is $75; per diem fees apply throughout the week.  A $25 per session deposit is due at the time of registration.  Membership to Emerald Isle Parks & Recreation Community Center is not mandatory.

Emerald Isle Parks and Recreation Summer Day Camp Program Mission: Is to provide both entertaining and educating activities for children 6-12, where activities are facilitated in a safe, fun environment by means that are structured and well supervised.  Activities will provide enrichment for children and community.

Emerald Isle Parks and Recreation Summer Day Camp Program Objective: Is to reach out into the community and neighboring communities to encourage children and parents to see Emerald Isle Parks and Recreation Summer Day Camp as a place for children to interact with one another, learn valuable lessons in communication, develop teamwork skills, enhance physical condition, provide avenues for creative endeavors and present the children with opportunities to give back to the community.
