After School
Program: The Emerald Isle Parks & Recreation
Department is proud to offer an After School Program for children. This program
is designed to provide enrichment activities for children in grades K-5th after
school hours. The program allows children to enjoy a fun, safe environment with
structured supervision. Children have the opportunity to: begin homework
assignments, participate in arts & crafts projects, play games & sports in the
gym, play outside at Blue Heron Park and much more. The fee for the program is
$50 per week, payable monthly. The ASP takes place Monday-Friday each week from
3pm – 6pm in the Community Center. The program operates on the Carteret County
Public School System’s annual School Calendar.

Thank
you for your interest in the Mother’s Morning Out Preschool Program! We
are delighted that you are considering our preschool program at Emerald
Isle Parks and Recreation.

they will also have the opportunity to socialize and interact with their
peers. They’ll have a great time … and so will you!
The Mother’s
Morning Out Program is Emerald Isle Parks & Recreation’s preschool program
designed for children ages 2-5. The 2 & 3 year old class meets on Tuesday and
Thursday from 9am until 12pm. The 4 & 5 Year old class meets on Wednesday and
Friday from 9am until 12pm. The Mother’s Morning Out Preschool Program operates
on the Carteret County school calendar. The fee is $100 per month. One monthly
volunteer (mom, dad, grandma, uncle, nanny, etc) day and snack are required.
Membership to Emerald Isle Parks & Recreation is not required. Call Laura Lee
Davis at 252-354-6350 to put your child on the waiting list for our program.
All spaces in the 2010-2011 Mother’s Morning Out Preschool Program are filled.
We are only accepting children for the waiting list for care in the upcoming
years. Thank you.

Kids’ Art with Joy McKee
On September 6th, Joy McKee will begin conducting art
lessons at Emerald Isle Parks & Recreation for children in grades 2-6. The
emphasis of the classes will be enriching children's lives through the visual
arts. Classes will include the fundamentals of drawing and color theory,
vocabulary, imagination and creativity, study of art masters, fun elements in
art, sculptures with clay and paper mache. Each student will have his or her
own sketch book and materials to keep.
A maximum of 8 students will be accepted into the art class
for the fall term; September through December. The fee for the class is $50 per
month/for the four-month fall term, plus $30 supply fee payable with your
September payment. The supply fee is per term, not monthly. Classes will take
place on Tuesdays from 3:45pm to 4:45pm in the lounge at Emerald Isle Parks &
Recreation, 7500 Emerald Drive, Emerald Isle. Pre-registration is required,
spaces is very limited. Call Laura Lee Davis at 252.354.6350 to register your
child.
Joy McKee has a degree in Art Education. She has taught
art in the Onslow County schools, Jacksonville Montessori Children's School &
Crystal Coast School of the Arts in Morehead City. |
