Crystal Coast Girls Youth Volleyball

Girls Youth Volleyball registration will begin August 1st and end August 29th. Registration Fee is $30 for the following age divisions: Girls 9-10, 11-12, 13-14. Player's age is determined as of Oct. 1st. The league is sponsored by Carteret County Parks & Recreation, Emerald Isle Parks & Recreation and Morehead City Parks & Recreation Departments. Beach Safety Courses



The Emerald Isle Fire Department oversees the Town's Beach Patrol and Lifeguard program, and is offering a new Beach Safety Course all summer long. Come on out and learn valuable information to make your beach experience as safe and enjoyable as possible!
 
The new course will include helpful information about the Town's programs, how to prepare for your beach visit, warning flags and what they mean, rip current identification and survival, spinal injury prevention, lightning safety, potentially harmful aquatic life, and more! The course is designed for beach visitors of all ages, and is free of charge to everyone.

The Emerald Isle Philately (Stamp) club has been an active club meeting in Emerald Isle for 22+ years. The Emerald Isle Philately Club is the only stamp club within 50 miles. The club is a member of the American Philatelic Society, as well as The United Stamp Society.

PEP Program (Police Educating the Public)


The Emerald Isle Police Department is proud to introduce the PEP program to Emerald Isle. The PEP program, or Police Educating the Public, will be a series of one hour classes presented on the third Tuesday of every month in the Town Board Meeting Room at 10:00am. These classes will cover a variety of subjects relevant to issues being faced by communities across the country. Our goal with this program will be to increase public awareness, as well as, provide education and tips on how you can prevent yourself from becoming vulnerable to these issues. Our vision for this program is that by putting a little "PEP" in our community, we can reduce criminal activity and prevent our citizens from becoming the next victim. American Heart Association CPR Certification provides training on how to correctly perform CPR on adults, children and infants as well as basic first aid. All students must pre-register. Walking Club


Come out and join fellow neighbors and friends in an attempt to create a healthier lifestyle. Each walk will begin and end at the Emerald Isle Community Center with different routes walked each week; most walks will be 2-3 miles. Rain location will be the Emerald Isle Community Center gymnasium. This program is open to participants of all ages. Anyone under 16 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian. There will also be Bonus Miles that can be earned each week; for example a family walk outside of the Walking Club can earn up to 5 points! At the end of the season, awards and gifts will be given to participants in many different categories. Sculpt for Wildlife
Eastern Ocean Regional Access (EORA) @ Mile Marker 15

STOP THE PRESSES! STOP THE PRESSES!! Come join OWLS for our new “Sculpt for Wildlife” hosted by the Outer Banks Wildlife Shelter and sponsored by the Town of Emerald Isle & Firehouse Subs to benefit our own OWLS! It’s going to be a day of FUN IN THE SUN! Sandy Feat, renowned sand sculptors from Raleigh, will be on hand again this year to give a demonstration, build their own awesome creation, and to judge our contest! The event will be held September 13 in Emerald Isle at the Eastern Ocean Regional Access located at the 15 mile marker, 2701 Emerald Drive, Emerald Isle.

Speaking of contests, we have some great prizes from lots of area businesses, from Swansboro all the way to Beaufort and of course Emerald Isle, including dinner certificates, free admission to the Aquarium, movie tickets, and many other fun prizes. In addition to the sand sculpting, you can look forward to an appearance by several of OWLS Education Animals. What a great thing for your scout troop, church group, coworkers, or family members to participate in! Whether you participate in the contest, or just come out to check out the fun, you definitely don’t want to miss this event!!

Registration will begin at 9am, with judging being held at 2pm. Lunch will be available from 12 to 2, and beverages, t-shirts, and other items will be available throughout the day. The entry fee will be $25 the day of the contest, but you can pre-register at OWLS for $20 - The first 10 teams to sign up will receive free parking! There are no dues - just good news and good food! Coffee is available upon arrival. Pot-luck buffet begins with a prayer at 6:30pm. Please plan to attend whenever you are in town with casual attire, smiling faces, positive attitudes to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries or to make announcements about anything important to you! Someone usually brings a cake, but don't let that stop you from bringing one too or another type of dessert, main dish, side dish, etc. The schedule for this year is the 3rd Thursday of each month: March 20, April 17, May 15, (June-August is our summer break), September 18, October 16, November 20, December TBA, usually earlier in December in order to meet the Toys for Tots deadline for donations, a supper club service. There are no dues - just good news and good food! Coffee is available upon arrival. Pot-luck buffet begins with a prayer at 6:30pm. Please plan to attend whenever you are in town with casual attire, smiling faces, positive attitudes to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries or to make announcements about anything important to you! Someone usually brings a cake, but don't let that stop you from bringing one too or another type of dessert, main dish, side dish, etc. The schedule for this year is the 3rd Thursday of each month: March 20, April 17, May 15, (June-August is our summer break), September 18, October 16, November 20, December TBA, usually earlier in December in order to meet the Toys for Tots deadline for donations, a supper club service. 11th Annual Emerald Isle Christmas Parade


Emerald Isle Christmas Parade sponsored by the Emerald Isle Business Association and the Town of Emerald Isle will take place on Saturday, November 29th beginning at 3pm on Hwy 58, Emerald Drive. Important note to all entrants: There will be only ONE Santa Claus in the parade and he will be riding in a float at the end. All other Santa’s will be sent back to the North Pole! Also, please join us after the parade for the official Christmas Tree Lighting at Merchant’s Park! 3rd Annual Holiday Arts and Crafts Fair

On the Saturday after Thanksgiving, Emerald Isle Parks and Recreation will host our 3rd Annual Holiday Arts and Crafts Fair in the Gymnasium. The Fair will feature all handmade or hand-authenticated items from local artisans and crafters. This is also the weekend of our annual Christmas Parade which is the kick-off to the holiday season here in Emerald Isle. Photos with Santa


Emerald Isle Parks & Recreation will host a very special visitor; jolly Ol’ St. Nicholas at his “authentic beach shack”. Professional photographer Jeff Pennell of Pennell’s Photography, Inc. will capture the smiles of your child or grandchild. One day will be dedicated to photographs of your four legged, fur-children with the charming man in red. The sitting fee for each of your pint-sized loved ones is just 5 cans of non-perishable food or a 5lb. bag of dog or cat food, additional donations are welcome. Your professional photographs will be available for purchase online at www.jeffpennell.com  . The basic package starts at $29.95. Santa Claus will be at his beach shack from 12-7 each day, but is available by appointment only. Preregistration and a $10 non- refundable deposit is due at registration. Sitting times can be reserved by contacting Sarah McNally at Emerald Isle Parks & Recreation. Proceeds will benefit the Humane Society and Wounded Warriors. What a great time of year to give! Not only do you get a beautiful photographed memory of your children or fur-children, but you also support our wounded heros and animals in need. Interested in Stamp Collecting? The Emerald Isle Philately (Stamp) Club welcomes new members!

The Emerald Isle Philately (Stamp) club has been an active club meeting in Emerald Isle for 22+ years. The group meets twice a month on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month at 7:00pm in the Town Board Meeting Room, 7500 Emerald Drive (located in the Emerald Isle Police Department building next to the water tower - entrance is through the rear doors and then through the double doors to the right).

The Emerald Isle Philately Club is the only stamp club within 50 miles. The club is a member of the American Philatelic Society, as well as The United Stamp Society.

Members may buy from these circuits. The club gets a new batch each month. Most meetings have no set time to end. For more information please call George Kukhorn at 252-354-5127.
