SUBJECT: Resolution Amending FY 18-19 Pay Plan
The Board of Commissioners is asked to approve the attached resolution amending the Town’s formal Pay Plan. The attached resolution simply adjusts the salary grade of the Fire Chief and Police Chief classifications from a salary grade 27 ($60,043 - $88,864) to a salary grade 28 ($63,045 - $93,307).
The proposed adjustment will increase the hiring rate and maximum salary for these two positions, and will provide additional salary growth potential for these position classifications in the future. Additionally, both individuals currently serving in these positions are expected to retire in the coming years, and the adjustment of the salary grade for these positions will enhance the Town’s recruitment efforts and ensure fair compensation for their successors.
The attached resolution simply adjusts the salary grades for these two positions, and does not result in additional actual salary adjustments for these positions at this time.
I recommend approval of the attached resolution.
