Malcolm Boartfield emerged from a successful 30 year career in technology management to become one of Atlanta's premier real estate professionals with the East Cobb Office of Prudential Georgia Realty. In 2001, he and his wife, Susie, became home owners in Emerald Isle where they fell in love with the beaches, waterways, and unique charms of the island.
As a professional real estate broker, Malcolm combines a passion for the island with expertise in the market, an ability to match the needs of clients with island properties, and a dedication to maintaining connections with clients after a sale is complete. Malcolm's love for Emerald Isle is the guiding force behind his professional philosophy, and he is committed not only to his own business success, but to the success and health of his community.
Malcolm possesses a rare combination of expertise in computer science and programming, real estate, and the ability to communicate with clients to produce long-lasting professional and personal relationships. It is not unusual for former clients to call Malcolm for advice on property values, home repairs, or even a recommendation for the best place to fish on the sound side of the island.
Although he has received many awards in the field of real estate, he is most proud of winning the 2001 Volunteer of the Year Award presented by the Cobb County Department of Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Affairs to one worthy volunteer out of a field of 18,000-a testament to a life of service that began during his time in the U.S. Army as a Telecommunications Equipment Repair Specialist during the Vietnam Conflict. Malcolm's goal is to serve the Emerald Isle community by providing guidance and direction as the town moves into the 21st century.
Malcolm was reappointed to the Planning Board in March 2022, and his current term will expire in March 2024.
