EIFD Needs Your Help- Lifeguard Host Family Program
The Emerald Isle Fire Department Lifeguard Program is currently seeking Host Families for the 2020 summer season. Hosting a lifeguard makes your family part of our team!
Based on standards established by the United States Lifesaving Association (USLA), Emerald Isle recruits individuals with advanced swimming skills and a devotion to the rigors of open water guarding. A majority of these lifeguards are college students. Some of which, hail from varied locations across the county and have no local connection (or family) in Carteret County.
A Host Family provides safe, comfortable housing, in a family environment for an Emerald Isle lifeguard.
As a Host Family, you will provide an invaluable service to the community and positively interact with a dynamic young adult. Your kindness will directly contribute to the safety of the Emerald Isle beaches.
To learn more about the program, contact the EIFD at (252) 354-2445 or click here: https://www.emeraldisle-nc.org/lifeguard-host-family-program

What exactly can I recycle?
The Town of Emerald Isle invests significant resources in our curb-side recycling program. Annually, Emerald Isle's residents and visitors recycle approximately 800 tons of waste!
Please make sure that recycling containers include only clean recyclable items. When mixed with household trash, recyclables will be rejected by our processing center. So please do your part to keep the recycle stream clean.
In Emerald Isle, recycling is collected year-long, each and every Wednesday. For a summary of the Town's trash and recycling program, please visit: https://www.emeraldisle-nc.org/garbage-recycling-2
