SUBJECT: Resolution Amending Town Meeting Room Policy
The Board of Commissioners is asked to approve the attached resolution formally amending the policy for the use of Town meeting rooms.
The attached resolution includes the following policy amendments:
the policy now applies to the Town Board Meeting Room and the Town Administration Building conference room,
the policy continues to assign priority to government and non-profit use, however it now allows the use of the meeting rooms (for a fee) by private entities at the discretion of the Town Manager,
the policy clarifies that alcoholic beverages are generally not permitted, but may be authorized with special requirements (outlined in the Code of Ordinances), and
the policy clarifies that the Town Administration Building conference room is only available during normal business hours.
The Town’s meeting rooms are rarely used by private entities, however, it does occur periodically, and the attached policy reflects that possibility.
I recommend approval of the attached resolution.
