Emerald Isle Public Beach Parking Areas Closed
EMERALD ISLE, N.C.- To further reduce the possible community spread of COVID-19, the Town of Emerald Isle will temporarily close its public beach parking areas.
Effective at sunset, March 19, 2020, the Town of Emerald Isle will close four public beach parking areas. Parking areas will remain closed through March 31, 2020. The locations include:
- The Western Ocean Regional Access (WORA)
- The Eastern Ocean Regional Access (EORA)
- Station Street Park
- Third Street Park
“Following guidance of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC), Gov. Roy Cooper, and local health officials, North Carolinians are asked to implement social distancing,” said Matt Zapp, Town Manager. “Visitors should be aware that travel to the coast is being discouraged at this time.”
Public restrooms remain closed through March 31, 2020 as well. Officials will review the situation and make adjustments to the schedule as needed.
The Town of Emerald will continuously monitor the COVID-19 situation and provide updates to the public and media via our website (www.emeraldisle-nc.org) and social media sites. We sincerely appreciate your cooperation and understanding during these challenging times.
