The Town of Emerald Isle Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing in the Town Board Meeting Room, 7500 Emerald Drive, on Tuesday, March 9, 2021, at 6:00 p.m., or as close thereafter as possible. The purpose of the hearing is to consider potential text amendments to Chapter 1 General Provisions, Chapter 2 Administration, Chapter 9 Enforcement, and Section 10.2 Definitions to comply with the requirements outlined in N.C.G.S 160D. The public is hereby advised and may make comment at that time. The proposed changes may be reviewed at the Department of Planning and Inspections at the Town Administration Building, 7509 Emerald Drive, Emerald Isle, NC.

Special meeting Budget planning workshop
The Emerald Isle Board of Commissioners will hold a budget planning workshop on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 immediately following their regularly scheduled board meeting, in the Town Hall Board Room, 7500 Emerald Drive, North Carolina. The purpose of the meeting is to review FY 21-22 budget issues and other goals for FY 21-22. The public is hereby notified.

PLANNING BOARD/BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT
The Town of Emerald Isle Planning Board/Board of Adjustment will hold a public hearing on Monday, March 22, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. in the Town Board Meeting Room located at 7500 Emerald Drive, Emerald Isle, NC. The purpose of the hearing is to consider a request submitted by Tom Fetter for a variance to Chapter 5, Table 5.1 “Table of Dimensional Standards” & Chapter 10, 10.2 Definitions Building Setbacks Front, Side, Rear of the Town’s Unified Development Ordinance. The property is located at 3114 Ocean Drive E & W (Tax Parcel 631413233078000 & 631413233067000). The request is for a variance to the required minimum front yard setback requirement of 30 feet and 3-foot encroachment allowance for elevator shafts in order to allow for the placement of two outdoor elevators that extend 6.5 inches beyond the 3-foot encroachment allowance. The public is hereby informed and may attend the hearing.
