Emerald Isle Public Playgrounds Closed

EMERALD ISLE, N.C.-  To further reduce the possible community spread of COVID-19, the Town of Emerald Isle will temporarily close its public playground areas.

Effective today, March 23, 2020, the Town of Emerald Isle will close three public playground areas.  Unfortunately, the following playgrounds will remain closed until further notice:

  • Blue Heron Park Playground
  • Ocean Oaks Park Playground
  • Senator Jean Preston Memorial Park Playground

Emerald Isle Officials will review all closures/restrictions and make adjustments to the schedule as needed.   

The Town of Emerald will continuously monitor the COVID-19 situation and provide updates to the public and media via our website ( and social media sites.  We sincerely appreciate your cooperation and understanding during these challenging times.
