Tropical Storm Elsa: Message No. 1

The following information was released by the National Weather Service Newport/Morehead City office on the morning of Monday, July 5, 2021, pertaining to Tropical Storm Elsa:

"Tropical Storm Elsa is still forecast to move northeastward, and pass over, or near, Eastern NC sometime Thursday (July 8). At a minimum, heavy rain with localized flash flooding is possible, along with some tropical storm force wind gusts, large waves, and dangerous rip currents. Depending on the exact track, isolated severe storms including tornadoes are possible. For the latest, refer to our local tropical page: https://www.weather.gov/mhx/Tropical."
