Western Ocean Regional Access - WORA


Located 0.4 miles from the B. Cameron Langston Bridge, off Islander Drive and beside Queen’s Court Condominiums.  Home of Emerald Isle’s Summer Concert Series.


Open year round from sunrise to sunset.


Leashed pets allowed; must be on a six-foot leash.  Owners are subject to pooper scooper law.  $50 fine for violators. 


Lifeguards are on duty from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. from April through September this year at the Western Ocean Regional Access (WORA).  Paid parking is $2-$4 an hour, based on time of year and day of the week. The maximum amount for one vehicle per day is $16. Vehicles should be parked in a space before payment can be made using the Passport smartphone app or by utilizing one of the two kiosks on site. Reservations are not accepted, and it is first-come, first-serve.

From the intersection of Hwy 24 and 58 proceed across the B. Cameron Langston Bridge.  After the first traffic light, make the first right hand turn onto Islander Drive.  Proceed on Islander Drive to the sign for the Public Beach Access.  Turn right into the parking lot.  Located beside Queen’s Court Condominiums.
