Those who are looking to dispose of their live Christmas trees can do so in Emerald Isle to help build dunes.
Live Christmas trees, without any lights, ornaments and tinsel, can be dropped off at the corner of Islander and Emerald drives, from December 26, 2022, through February 3, 2023. These trees will then be used to help build dunes along the beach strand thanks to the efforts of the Surfrider Foundation - Bogue Banks Chapter.
