Mark Crews welcomed as Public Information Officer

Mark Crews

The Town of Emerald Isle is pleased to announce the hiring of Mark Crews as Public Information Officer.  He will begin work in early April.

Mr. Crews brings a wealth of experience in media relations and mass communications to the job.  Throughout the past 20-years, he cultivated an impressive track record in the global media industry.

“We are confident that Mark will be an excellent addition to our team,” said Matt Zapp, Town Manger. “With Mark’s background, the communications staff will continue building a stronger, more connected community in Emerald Isle.”

After studying communications at East Carolina University, Mr. Crews worked on three nationwide television programs and the Emmy nominated PBS series, Exploring North Carolina. As well as documentaries for the NC State Park system and The North Carolina Supreme Court. His expertise in media relations, social media management, and visual storytelling will prove invaluable in Emerald Isle.

“I am honored to serve as the new Public Information Officer for the town of Emerald Isle, NC. As a lifelong resident of North Carolina and frequent visitor to this beautiful coastal community, I am committed to sharing the important news and events happening in our town with the public,” said Crews. “I look forward to working with our dedicated team and collaborating with community members to ensure that everyone is informed and connected.”

The Emerald Isle Public Information Officer works closely with town officials, residents, property owners, and businesses to provide accurate and timely information about town activities, events, and news.

The public can stay connected in multiple ways!  Visit the town’s official website at www.emeraldisle-nc.org, follow EI on Twitter, Facebook, Snapchat, and Instagram.  For up-to-the-minute information, including weather alerts and ocean conditions, be sure to download the official Town of Emerald Isle APP on your smartphone.
