Coastal Dredging began work on the NC Wildlife Boat Ramp on Monday, May 9, 2022, in a dredging project that should be complete within ten working days.
While dredging, the contractor will attempt to keep the boat ramp open to the public, however, please be aware that limited disruptions to boat access may be experienced during this time.
The boat ramp, at 6800 Emerald Drive, is the property of the NC Wildlife Resources Commission and is open year-round to boaters. The $90,000 dredging project is fully funded by the NC Shallow Draft Grant and the State, which means zero Emerald Isle taxpayer dollars have been spent for this dredging.
