Emerald Isle, NC
On July 25, 2024, Emerald Isle Emergency Services were dispatched to the area of 1500 Ocean Drive in reference to a water rescue incident. Emergency crews from Emerald Isle and Indian Beach responded due to multiple ongoing incidents at the time.
The emergency incident was received around 4:15 p.m. for a subject that was pulled into the water. Upon arrival, emergency crews found two victims and bystander rescuer 50-60 feet from shore in the surf. Ocean rescue and fire department personnel brought in two victims and the rescuer.
Unfortunately, a 29- year-old female, visiting the area succumbed to her injuries. The second victim and bystander rescuer were treated and released by emergency services on the scene.
